Have questions? We’re here to help
What is your best Mattress for those who have back pain?
Back problems may result because of different reasons. It is safest to follow your doctor’s advice. Our advice is choosing a MEDIUM-FIRM mattress.
Which kind of wood do you use in making your beds?
We are using Canadian White Wood. This is a dust mite-treated and sturdy type of wood that is best suitable for bed and furniture.
Which Mattress is best for those with allergies?
Allergies may be caused by a lot of factors. Here in The Mattress Store, we have natural, organic, botanical mattress models like Nature’s Finest & Pulse Latex which are anti-allergens, anti-dust mite, anti-mold and mildew. These mattress models are hypo-allergenic & “eco-friendly” certified. However, all our mattresses pass through strict quality hygiene testing before coming out of the factory. This ensures that the mattress you will receive is clean & healthy.
Which Mattress is similar to the one they use in Hotels?
We have Hotel Collection Tight Top & Hotel Collection Euro-Top. Both of which are made of Latex with Pocket Spring.
Which Mattress is best for Kids?
As kids grow and their bodies continue to develop, we don’t want them to feel uncomfortable on a very hard or a very soft mattress. I can advise you Kids Visco (made of Memory Foam plus HD Foam, non-spring) or Kids Latex (made of Latex plus HD Foam, non-spring), which are designed for kids.
*Children between the age of 3-12 years old
What is the difference between Latex and Memory Foam?
Latex is derived from the rubber tree, so it is botanical, natural and organic. Whereas memory foam is made of polyurethane material, it means synthetic visco-elastic foam.
When it comes to mattress, latex has faster recovery time and is bouncier. When you press on the latex, the material goes back quickly to its original form & this also means it is very supportive.
Memory foam on the other hand, conforms to an individual’s body shape, it has a slower recovery time because it is sensitive to body weight & temperature. This is actually beneficial for those who have joint pains. The soft material of memory foam absorbs the areas of the body that need pressure relief.
What are the benefits of Gel in Mattresses?
Gel has been used for mattresses for a number of benefits. Gel gives cooling, AKA thermo-regulation, heat can be drawn away from the body & helps keep the body to stay cool. Gel will also help the mattress provide more plush feeling. It helps in balancing body support, especially if you are a side sleeper because it lessens the pressure on the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles.
Which Mattress is best for back or side sleepers?
For back sleepers, it is important to note the proper spine alignment. A mattress must provide support to the hips and shoulders without too much stress and pressure on them. A good example of this is our Nature’s Finest Latex, which has zoning comfort. (Medium Firm mattress from Auping, Technogel & Kluft). For heavier people, the Expression Firm may suit them better. (Firm mattress from Auping, Technogel & Kluft)
– For side sleepers, it is better to have a cushioned or softer mattress. This way, the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles are properly aligned. Posture Support Plus is a great mattress for side sleepers. (Soft Mattress from Auping, Technogel & Kluft). However, for heavier individuals, who sleep on their sides, they may require a harder mattress to support their weight. Our Bodiform Gel series are our best options. (Medium Firm mattress from Auping, Technogel & Kluft)
What is body impression?
As time passes, body impression is formed on the mattress due to the foams and fibers conforming to your body shape. This is a normal, natural phenomenon, it is not considered sagging. Whereas sagging is when there’s a depression of more than 3CM on the mattress’s surface.
What kind of fabric do you use in your Mattresses?
Mattress fabric AKA “MATTRESS TICK”. The Mattress Store uses different fabrics for their mattresses. Recently, we have incorporated organic bamboo and cotton. Damask is very common for all mattress manufacturers. It is soft to touch & breathable. We also use Jacquard fabric which varies from cotton, polyester, silk etc. We are also known to use knitted or quilted mattress ticking. All mattress ticks used by The Mattress Store are fire-retardant.
How many springs do you have in your Englander King-Size Mattress?
Our pocket spring mattress has 250 springs per square meter. For our mattress with micro-pocket springs, it has 500 springs per square meter. To compute for 180×200 in normal pocket springs: 1.8x2x250 = 900 pocket springs. In micro-pocket springs: 1.8x2x500 = 1800 micro-pocket springs.
Is there a Mattress such as a "Medical Mattress"?
There is no such thing as a medical mattress. What people mean when they say medical mattress is the hard-orthopedic mattress.
How often should we change our Mattress?
According to mattress experts and scientists, we should replace the mattress every 5-7 years. Over time, our mattress loses its shape & shows signs of wear & tear. It accumulates dead skin cells & allergens or dust mites. As our mattress ages, we also as the occupant, may go through some physical changes which will be another factor to replace our mattress.
